Capital Campaign 2024

The church is not a building but a community of followers of Jesus learning to love God and love others. Our goal is to honor the Father, through faithfulness to the Son by the empowering of the Spirit. Our building is the PLACE where we gather, grow and go to fulfill our goal.

Over the last several months our leadership has met, prayed and discerned what projects need to be accomplished over the next 3 years in order to ensure that our building continues to be a place where we can overcome the world and be a faithful witness to Christ in Urbana. They identified three areas that needed projects: Preservation, Presence, and Progress.

PRESERVATION

Investment: $300,000

Inspired by Hebrews 12 we want to honor the investment made by those who have gone before us in the faith. As good stewards, we must take care of the building and its structure. From basic maintenance to major repair of the exterior, we maintain our connection to the past. In preserving our physical sanctuary, we honor the legacy of faith that has brought us to this point.

Just as we tend to the leaks in our roof and restore the beauty of our stained glass, we acknowledge the importance of preserving the foundations of our faith journey. As we mend our exterior, we recognize the need to heal our spirits, nurturing the traditions and teachings that have sustained us.

PRESENCE

Investment: $150,000

In ensuring the safety of our community, we embrace the present moment with mindfulness and care. Just as we install fire alarms and maintain our boilers, we prioritize the safety and well-being of all who gather within these walls.

This commitment to safety extends beyond the physical realm, encompassing emotional support, inclusivity, and a welcoming environment where all can feel secure in their spiritual discipleship.

PROGRESS

Investment: $50,000
Guided by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, we are called to expand our church’s capacity for fellowship and discipleship. As we expand our capacity for fellowship and discipleship, we look toward the future with hope and vision. By creating multi-purpose spaces and enhancing technological capabilities, we strive to adapt to the evolving needs of our community. By redefining spaces and embracing flexibility, we open ourselves to new growth, learning, and spiritual transformation possibilities.
